About Pnina Dor
Pnina creates abstract and dynamic works using movement and sound. While working she circles around the work, painting it with a perception of circular space. The resulting work is open and, only on completion of the creative process, allows her to choose a placing position and viewing direction.
The abstract style of the works enables viewers to observe, "without glasses," the internal structure or the spirit things, that which is in incessant motion and contains the essence of all structures, both imagery and material, within it. Pnina emerges from the language of physical sound integrated with her occupation in song and musical composition. This enables her comfort in abstract spaces and, as such, she also enables us, the viewers, to experience the dancing, sounds and song that emanate from her works.
Movement is the essence that leads Pnina's creations, motivating to various extremes. Much of the works involve a dialogue between darkness and light, between tempestuous drives and eternal tranquility. This encounter between two creative forces paints a world in which the presence of movement is infinite as a motivating force, transferring a message that, while everything exists, it is also transient. Despite the struggle taking place, a sense that there is no single correct answer evolves. There are no victors. That which existed at the time of the Creation of the world continues to exist within and around it. While viewing the works, we have the opportunity to exit from the wandering for a moment and to witness the happenings.
In the works painted long before the war in our country, one can find the motive, the tunnel, as a portal or passage, both physical and symbolic, between darkness and light in the sounds of the images emerge from it. In other works there are planes of color that evolve into sounds of inner music and we, as viewers, can sense and hear it through observation.

About Pnina Dor's Creation
Pnina's creations constitute a genre of multi-dimensional space into which she draws and accompanies her viewers into tiers of a kind of multi-colored dance.
The sense of movement and depth stem from the fact that Pnina relates to the painting's canvas as if to space around and above which she dances and, every contact with that space leaves a tier, a touch or fluttering of color and texture that transmit a sense of veils and masks through which we are able to glance inwards and are led into the creation and into the recesses of her mind as a creator.
The creations are formed tier by tier, commencing with the touch of fingertips through palms, forearms and elbows. Every such touch and its movement creates a different genre of textures in which the connection between them creates enthralling encounters of transparent and opaque stains, which merge together to form a creation with a fervent three-dimensional and in-depth sense without being shackled to the laws of physics and perspective.
The manner of using colors and the sub shades which are created from the creator's intrepid and surprising encounters, lead us inwards into the creation as if we were walking through an enchanted forest in which the deeper we progress so we find new harmonious and disharmonious dimensions, which stem from the colorfulness and concrete imagery, on the one hand, and, on the other hand, the abstract imagery, while simultaneously displaying musical rhythms that create an ensemble of "colorful dance."
One could say that the creations invite viewers to experience freedom for their rhythmical and morphological interpretation and, the deeper we look into the creation, the more we will notice that the images indeed rise, float and intensify.
